SMX is seeking an Aviation Operations Lead to assume the responsibilities for the day-to-day operational management of multiple manned aviation activities and functions on the MARLINS task order, including Central and South America and the Caribbean. As the Operations Lead, you will provide program policies, procedures and, and operational oversight of all current and future manned aviation programs on MARLINS. You will also determine support levels and enhancements, oversight, technical advice and reporting trend analysis and interfacing with the US Government, Host provide program budgets Government and supported units as required. This position operates in a commercial and military aviation environment with regular interface between foreign and domestic political, governmental, and business leaders.
The successful candidate will work and live in Central/South America. This position requires a DoD security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on a DoD contract.
Responsibilities
- Manages all MARLINS manned flight operations with ISR aircraft operated in the AOR
- Assists clients with development, integration, testing and deployment of new sensors
- Provides guidance and recommendations to the Program Manager with regards to host nation procedures, logistics, policy questions, and any other issues as they arise
- Provides guidance and recommendations to the Program Manger prior to and during evaluations from the Aviation Maintenance Management Team (AMMT), Government Flight Representative (GFR) and/or Government Ground Representative (GGR)
- Develops and maintains subcontractor and vendor relationships with the Fixed Base Operators (FBO), Labor Services providers, Fuel providers, facility providers, and other providers that support onsite programs
- Directly enforces the Corporate Safety Program and supports the Corporate Safety Officer, Program Managers, Program Safety Officers and the Chief Pilot to ensure Division programs meet all safety standards and directives
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of Company Requesting Officials (CRO) and operations liaison personnel within the area of responsibility (AOR)
- Coordinates logistics operations, including warehousing, facilities, local personnel services, fuel support, facilities and vendor relationships
- Develops both new business and current accounts through business development research to create growth in sales
- Represents the company externally with Host Government, US Government, statutory/regulatory bodies, legal entities and business partners/allies
- Responsible for providing necessary service and support to new and existing partners and customers
- Exercises oversight, planning and execution of all future programs deploying on the MARLINS task order and supervises the reception, staging and integration of programs
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Ten years related aviation work experience
- Prior experience as an aviation Program Manager or Site Manager
- Experience operating within the Central and South America
- Must be able to obtain and hold the required Secret clearance
- Prior experience in coordinating with partner nations, Government Contractors and the US Military
