Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) who will be accountable to grow and develop our Food Protection business across the territory. As TSS, you will be responsible for maximizing sales of our world class workflows and applications with a primary focus on Molecular whilst promoting Thermo Fisher Scientific as the technology leader in Food Protection. You will focus your time on building long term strategic relationships, identifying new sales opportunities including customer conversions, nurturing them to completion.

This is a field based role and the territory includes France and Belgium with occasional coverage across Europe. You will be on the road travelling within your territory 3 days per week on average, with up to 10 overnight stays expected per month. When not travelling, you will work from a home office. Candidates can be based anywhere within territory, but should be located located near to an airport and strong transport links.

What will you do?

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans directly and with local sales representatives, employing multi-level selling approach to drive growth in the assigned Molecular Food Protection portfolio
  • Promote full Molecular Food Protection portfolio workflows and services within assigned territory
  • Achieve or exceed sales quota and objectives by crafting, implementing and tracking on performances to plan, targets, and forecasts
  • Collaborate with local sales channels and sales teams from other divisions to identify and develop potential leads
  • Maintain profitability whilst ensuring 100% customer satisfaction
  • Maintain contact with existing customers to promote new solutions, close deals, and grow sales, as well as develop new prospects
  • Conduct sales visits with new prospects and be responsible for driving and supporting all technical activities, such as after sales support, documentation support and organise customer demonstrations, whilst continuously monitoring sales performance & providing accurate forecasting.
  • organise scientific seminars
  • Deliver excellent customer experience by developing a strong working relationship with Marketing, Technical Support, Customer Support, Service and Operations to ensure that a collaborative team environment is established, and optimal technical and customer service support is guaranteed
  • 100% compliance with CRM systems

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology (preferred), Biochemistry or related field with Experience with Microbiology Products with relevant experience, ideally in the food industry
  • Commercial experience with challenging sales processes and a strong hunter mentality
  • Putting the customer first mindset
  • High degree of technical competence & confidence
  • Well organized individual with ability to establish business objectives
  • Excellent communication, presentation and networking skills
  • Experience with territory planning, presenting and forecasting (revenue and demand)
  • Fluent in French language
  • 75% travel primarily France and Belgium with occasional travel across Europe as and when required for internal meetings and trainings
  • Based in France
  • Driving License essential
